Hypnosis

Hypnosis, also known as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, is a trance-like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. Hypnosis is usually done with the help of a therapist using verbal repetition and mental imagery.

What exactly is Hypnosis?

“Hypnosis is an incredible tool”

Hypnosis is an incredible tool, used and improved over many years. This method of inducing change within a mindset has evolved through many Hypnotists throughout the centuries.  It brings great entertainment through Illusion, but above all, brings relief to so many people, who have become dominated to some degree or another, by set states of mind that have become outdated and no longer support the individual in their evolution. If an individual has committed themselves to wanting the change to occur, then the transformation will be that much more successful.

Unlike other techniques, hypnosis gets to the subconscious source of your problems. Whatever the issue you’re trying to solve or improve,  pain, stress, anxiety, PTSD, anger management, weight loss, addiction, habit or something different – hypnotherapy may be the help for you.  If you’re having negative thoughts, feelings and emotions that hold you back in life, or feel unable to move forward from any experiences or blocks. Perhaps you simply want to improve on your strengths, then “Hypnosis could be a fantastic aid”.  It’s possible that you’ve tried all kinds of methods to remove or improve.

Most therapeutic strategies only ever touch the surface and treat only the symptoms you experience. Generally, there is only a 40% chance of more traditional methods addressing the issue permanently.  In Hypnosis, it is more often than not, in the 90% plus zone.

What should I expect?

“All discussions will be confidential”

There will be an initial consultation regarding the reasons you wish to be Hypnotised.

All discussions will be confidential. Once an open discussion has taken place and we have talked through any fears or questions you may have, we will then proceed with the hypnotherapy session.

I will lead you into a place of relaxation and ease.  Then together, we can work to help you to become calmer, less stressed, less fearful and empowered. You can learn to live your life on a day to day basis, with vibrancy and ease, rather than using all of your energies worrying about how you can bring about change in yourself and therefore your life.

It may be that it will take more than one session.  Again this will be discussed at the consultation.

What people are saying

Jo’s online yoga lessons during lockdown have been wonderful. She provides a structured, tailor-made session to match your ability, strengths and weaknesses.

Every session is different and her instructions are very clear and precise, ensuring all movements are done correctly and safely. The sessions have provided pain relief for my aches and pains, not to mention the relaxation benefits felt by the end. I would highly recommend Jo for any age group.

Having moved into the area, I had been looking for a new yoga teacher for some time. I had just about given up on finding someone suitable for me when I came across Jo. That was almost four years ago and I am still attending Jo’s classes.

Jo is a supportive, good-humoured teacher who creates a safe space for any level of ability.

Classes are well structured. There is adequate time to bring yourself into the room, leaving the cares of the day behind. Moves follow to warm up your body. Transitioning into postures where you can challenge yourself, or not, depending on your ability and how you feel on the day. There is never any pressure to do more than you want but rather a supportive environment if you want to give it a go.

The relaxation at the end of the class rounds off the session and leaves me feeling serene as I float off home knowing that I will have an excellent night’s sleep.

I’ve been coming to Jo’s Zoom yoga classes since the beginning of the first lockdown in 2020 and I absolutely love them.

Even when lockdown relaxed, and face to face classes resumed, Jo continued to provide online Zoom classes for those of us that work long hours and find it more convenient to do a class in the comfort of your own home.

The yoga classes help with both my mental wellbeing and the ongoing lower back pain I have been suffering with. Jo is mindful of this in all the classes I do, either a group class or 121. She is conscious of all abilities in the room and tailors each class perfectly for us all. I find the classes both relaxing and energising. I do a lot of road cycling and Jo has taught me how to stretch both before and after a ride which has helped massively with my strength and flexibility. Thank you Jo I look forward to the challenges and benefits each class brings.

Jo’s teaching is intelligent, spiritual and joyful!

Jo is nurturing, her classes are educational, non-competitive and a safe space Emphasis is on using proper positioning and breathing techniques, within individual capabilities but with gentle encouragement to challenge the body if possible. Practice is always followed by a guided meditation and a chance to reflect, relax and important to ask questions.

After practicing yoga with Jo for three years, I feel physically stronger, mentally more relaxed and focused in my everyday life. Jo is warmly recommended as a practitioner.
